“We have taken our dog to Dogs and Kat since she was a puppy. We went through puppy play, obedience classes, rally and agility classes. All of our teachers have been great from Trip and Jenn to Kat herself.

There is such a good array of classes and we love that they use positive reinforcement training.  Alta gets so excited when we pull up to the building. We love Dogs and Kat so much our new puppy has just started puppy play there. We can’t recommend all of the awesome staff and classes at Dogs and Kat enough!”

“Today was a BIG day for Riley as she was in a therapy dog event at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital…

Riley and Tim have been volunteering every week at Vanderbilt at Hundred Oaks for many months and have been asked to interview for a volunteer spot at Vandy Children's Hospital Emergency Room.  Riley and I go to a senior facility, Park Manor, every other week, as well.

We are so grateful that Riley is able to bring so much happiness to others which allows us to be able to serve as well.  These opportunities would not be available to us had it not been for the great foundation that you helped set with all of her (and our) training!  We are so grateful for your work with all of us and wanted you to know how meaningful it was and continues to be to us and others!  We certainly would not be doing this without your patient training and all of your encouragement!” Thank you so very much.

“I have trained in Kat Martin's classes for a decade with multiple dogs.

Her training method is science based...

The foundation being positive reinforcement with the dog making the right decisions.  The long term success is the result of dogs having trusting relationships with their handlers and clear, positive communication.  Kat exemplifies the way training should be conducted.  There is no one that I would more highly recommend for bond-based training classes than Kat Martin.  She is an asset to our community as a professional and an individual. Kat is making a difference in the lives of dogs and their humans.”

“Rodney is a big fan of Kat’s positive training...

While she’s still quick to warn us of anyone she thinks might be an intruder, she has much better manners, and can hardly wait to go back to try Agility II.  She loved Agility I, and Kat somehow made it work for her 8” height and for the greyhounds too!”

“I'm a proud owner of two crazy little dogs. I knew I needed to get them some training, but had no idea where to start…

I was sure that I didn't want anything too militant because I still wanted them to be themselves, but I knew we needed more structure around the house so that we could better enjoy each other. Kat has really helped teach them self control and it's equally as enjoyable for me to watch them think: "What does Mommy want me to do?" rather than just running around in circles or being scared that I will punish them for doing something wrong (like some other training methods). We have nothing but great things to say about Kat and how she taught us to be better companions for each other. Thanks, Kat!!!”

“Shortly after we got Pepito in early December of 2006, we called Kat to find out when we could sign him up because we knew that a border collie was going to need some structure for his smarts.

The five weeks we spent in class taught us so much about the proper fundamentals for working with him in a positive, constructive way that produces tangible results.  He’s happier for having come to the class – and so are we!
